HOW DID I GET HERE?
It’s been a long and winding road…
WHAT DO I DO NOW?
I put the “fun” in function.
I am a consulting UX professional. This means that clients work with me because I help them transform merely functional and often complicated technology systems into intuitive experiences that are both efficient and enjoyable.
I’ve discovered a joy in putting together the pieces of context and empathy to make the complex simple. I enjoy problem-solving in cross-disciplinary teams, understanding different businesses and driving collaboration to make good stuff.
Growing in my role has also helped me produce impact beyond individual projects, be it building UX program management processes for a leading US life insurance and annuities provider or championing accessible research throughout the organisation by means of an internal expertise group.
UX CONSULTANT =
My forte is mixed methods user research where I employ a mix of qualitative and quantitative data to learn about users, tell their stories and advocate for their needs and pain points in the grand scheme of the product vision.
CREATIVE PROBLEM SOLVER
I thrive in collaborative, cross-functional teams; and enjoy bringing different perspectives together. In my role as “the voice of the user”, I have found storytelling as a great way to communicate to the “why” of our creation and share insights with a diverse group.
STAR COLLABORATOR AND STORYTELLER
With exposure to different problems, tools and people, consulting has made me proficient at learning new things quickly as well as identifying use cases and trends in user experiences.
LIFELONG LEARNER
WHAT DO I WANT TO DO IN THE FUTURE?
Go above and beyond.
In my next role, I’d like to continue developing a deeper understanding of my users to map their needs to the right business goals. I hope to drive longitudinal impact on product direction through building long-term relationships with stakeholders. But looking at the bigger picture, I also want to do more…
Technology is changing just about everything. UX Researchers have a unique preview to this change by observing new people-tech interactions and understanding their implications. It is both my personal and intellectual mission to use this understanding to add value, meaning and joy to human lives. I know that it’s a lofty, if not slightly vague goal and I’m still figuring it out. My interest in the spaces of accessibility, sustainability, education and technology ethics have been great starting points and as I learn more, the bigger questions begin to get a little clearer too. Here’s to driving sustainable growth towards a bright future!
BUT WHO AM I REALLY?
The person inside the researcher…
I hail from Mumbai, India
I am obsessed with stories
Analog over digital
🇮🇳
My hometown is a thriving metropolis of over 18 million people and truly a playground of diverse experiences. My growing years here planted the seed of fascination with stories, curiosity about human behavior and a desire to be a part of good social change.
📖
Whether it has come from a book, a movie, a song or a conversation, each story I have encountered has shaped me into the person I am. My favorites are Harry Potter, Khaled Hosseini, really old Hindi films, and Indian folklore in the words of my great-grandmother.
🌸
For someone whose bread-and-butter is digital products, it’s ironic that so many things I love live outside screens but I find pure joy in long runs, arts and crafts, the smell of books and coffee, doing jigsaws with my husband and laughing with my friends and family.
🙋🏻♀️ Up for coffee and conversation!
While I am a self-confessed introvert, I thoroughly enjoy getting to know new people over shared interests and passions. Here’s to new, meaningful connections!
